1. About Bigger Than Us – Travels
Bigger Than Us – Travels is a travel company based in Aruba that offers:
Personalized Travel Planning Services – custom itineraries and consulting for individual travelers or small groups.
Group Trips – organized journeys led or coordinated by us, which may include accommodations, domestic transportation, certain meals, activities, and local guides.
We design experiences that promote responsible travel centered on nature, wellness, adventure, and culture.
2. Contract Formation
A binding agreement is formed when you:
Submit a booking form, agree to an itinerary proposal, or pay a deposit; and
Receive written confirmation from Bigger Than Us – Travels.
The individual completing the booking (“Lead Traveler”) represents all participants in the booking and is responsible for communicating these Terms to the rest of the group.
3. Services Provided
A. Personalized Travel Planning Services
Depending on your selection:
We may act as a consultant, providing itinerary design and travel advice while you book your own arrangements; or
We may act as an organizer, making bookings and payments on your behalf through verified suppliers.
The specific scope of services will be described in your proposal or invoice.
B. Group Trips
Group trips are pre-arranged itineraries organized and managed by Bigger Than Us – Travels.
Details such as destinations, inclusions, exclusions, pricing, and group size are published on our website or promotional materials.
4. Payments and Deposits
A non-refundable deposit (specified per trip or service) is required to secure your booking.
The remaining balance must be paid no later than 60 days prior to departure, unless stated otherwise.
If full payment is not received by the deadline, your booking may be canceled without refund of the deposit.
Accepted payment methods include Stripe, PayPal, Cash, Wise, Revolut or bank transfer.
All prices are quoted in United States Dollars (USD) unless otherwise stated.
5. Cancellations and Refunds
A. Cancellations by the Traveler
All cancellations must be made in writing to [email protected]
Group Trips:
Cancellations or refunds concerning group trips will be stated in each specific agreement/contract made between the traveler and bigger than us – travels.
Please refer to this information when needed.
Personalized Travel Planning:
Consulting fees are non-refundable once services begin.
For bookings made by us on your behalf, supplier cancellation policies apply and may result in partial refunds only.
B. Cancellations by Bigger Than Us – Travels
We reserve the right to cancel a trip due to insufficient participants, safety concerns, or force majeure events (see Section 10).
In such cases, you may choose between a full refund (only if applicable) or transferring your booking to another available trip.
6. Changes and Modifications
We will make every effort to operate trips as published. However, itineraries may change due to weather, local conditions, safety, or operational requirements.
Minor changes (e.g., hotel substitution) do not qualify for refunds.
Major changes will be communicated promptly, and you will be offered a refund or alternative.
7. Traveler Responsibilities and Code of Conduct
By participating in our services, you agree to:
Comply with local laws, customs, and environmental regulations;
Behave respectfully toward group members, guides, and local communities;
Follow safety instructions from trip leaders or suppliers;
Avoid illegal or disruptive behavior.
Bigger Than Us – Travels reserves the right to remove any traveler whose behavior is unsafe, disrespectful, or negatively affects the experience of others.
No refunds will be issued in such cases.
8. Health, Fitness, and Travel Insurance
Participation in adventure or nature-based activities requires adequate health and physical fitness.
You must inform us of any pre-existing medical conditions, allergies, or dietary needs before booking.
You are required to obtain comprehensive travel and medical insurance covering trip cancellation, medical emergencies, evacuation, and personal belongings.
We may refuse participation if we believe your condition makes travel unsafe for you or others.
9. Liability and Assumption of Risk
Bigger Than Us – Travels acts as an organizer and intermediary between you and various independent suppliers (e.g., hotels, airlines, guides, transport operators).
We are not responsible for the acts, errors, or omissions of third parties.
Adventure and nature travel involve inherent risks including illness, injury, or property loss. By booking, you acknowledge and accept these risks and agree that:
You participate voluntarily and at your own risk;
Our liability is limited to the total amount paid for the booking;
We are not liable for delays, cancellations, or losses due to events beyond our control.
10. Force Majeure
We are not liable for failure or delay in performing obligations due to causes beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:
natural disasters, weather conditions, pandemics, war, political instability, strikes, or government restrictions.
In such cases, we will make reasonable efforts to reschedule or provide a credit for future travel.
11. Intellectual Property and Media Use
All content, itineraries, images, and materials created by Bigger Than Us – Travels are our intellectual property and may not be reproduced without permission.
We may capture photographs or videos during group trips for marketing purposes.
You will be asked for photo consent at the time of booking, and you may opt out in writing if you do not wish to appear in any media.
12. Privacy and Data Protection
We collect and process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, available on our website.
By using our services, you agree that we may process your information for booking, administration, and communication purposes.
13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Aruba.
Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Oranjestad, Aruba.
When registered in the Netherlands, we may adapt these Terms to Dutch law while maintaining equivalent protections.
14. Amendments
Bigger Than Us – Travels may update these Terms periodically.
The version in effect at the time of booking applies to your reservation.
Updated versions will be published on our website.
